Can local TV news shape how people think about climate change? A new USC study—conducted by researchers from USC Price, the @USCSchaeffer, @USCAnnenberg, and @USCRossier —finds that even brief coverage of severe weather can increase concern about climate change and boost support for policies that protect against it. “Local TV news stations are widely trusted by audiences from across the political aisle, and therefore provide an excellent medium for communicating about climate change adaptation in a non-polarizing way,” said USC Price Professor Wändi Bruine de Bruin.
