Eliminating worker misclassification is necessary to ensure that workers receive what they are owed. But the previous administration's proposal would severely restrict Americans’ freedom to work as they choose -- stifling ambition and hindering economic growth. The Trump Administration has proposed a better approach. By providing American workers and employers with clear guidance, @USDOL is balancing the need to give independent workers and entrepreneurs the flexibility they want with the robust legal protections true FLSA employees are owed. It was an honor to once again meet with the International Association of Firefighters. Last year on National Apprenticeship Day, we officially launched their new Registered Apprenticeship program, ensuring firefighters receive the unique training they need to stay safe while protecting our communities. I look forward to continuing our partnership to ensure @USDOL is doing everything we can to support our brave firefighters 🇺🇸

Today, @USDOL issued new guidance to streamline Registered Apprenticeships. This guidance gives apprenticeship program sponsors clearer direction on how to design programs that meet their workforce needs, outlines the roles of state apprenticeship agencies and councils, and clarifies how apprenticeship completion rates are determined.
