@SpangleAdvisors And in my humble opinion biggest impediments to development in our country are: babus and corruption. And these welfare schemes are nothing in terms of the systematic waste that govt does by taking irresponsible decisions.

@SpangleAdvisors Respected sir, yes development is necessary but no country can flourish without taking care of its citizens. Such meagre amounts help a lot of such beneficiaries. People in India still travel killometers to save bus fares. Consider the productivity lost on this account.
