Lo más sorprendente de la película de Michael es que solo retrataran la dificultad que tuvo de distanciarse de su padre y no de los Testigos de Jehová en su carrera artística. En Hollywood si dices algo malo de esa religión, automáticamente tienes un pase para ganar el Oscar.

Creo que a Michael Jackson le habría caido muy bien el papa Francisco y el papa León, en su tiempo, él era de los pocos que alzaban la voz desde sus plataformas para promover la paz y el amor a los más vulnerables.

Fun fact: During the 2005 trial, Jermaine secretly, without Michael’s knowledge, arranged a private jet for him. In case the trial went south, he was never going to allow his brother to go to jail because he knew Michael Jackson was innocent. He arranged for the private jet to take him to Bahrain because they don’t have an extradition agreement with the USA. Michael wasn’t even aware of this. Luckily, he was acquitted of all charges, so there was no need for Jermaine to go through with the plan. Michael only learned of it afterward. That’s why when I see some fans hating on Jermaine, Joe, and other family members who once had friction with Michael, my skin crawls. Y’all don’t seem to understand what family is. We’ll always hurt each other but still remain family and love one another no matter what. If your family is a normal healthy family, y’all will get on each other’s nerves every now and then, but it doesn’t take the love away. No one can love you more than your folks from home. None of you stans can love Michael more than his family. If you love Michael, you won’t constantly spew bile and hate toward his family. You can criticize some things they did, but that’s different from constantly hating on them. It’s counterproductive and doesn’t show you love or respect Mike. #MJInnocent

En abril de 1995, tras la primera acusación contra Michael Jackson, la periodista estadounidense Diane Dimond (máxima responsable del linchamiento mediático por el caso Chandler) cubrió en su programa Hard Copy la historia de una presunta nueva víctima de Michael Jackson. Se trataba de un niño canadiense de 15 años que afirmaba haber sido maltratado por el cantante. Finalmente, tras un intenso interrogatorio por parte de la policía canadiense, el niño se derrumbó, confesó que todo había sido una mentira y que había sido entrenado para hacer aquellas declaraciones. El artífice confeso de aquella estafa había sido Rodney Allen (usando el nombre John Templeton como falsa identidad), quien, casualmente, también había sido encargado de entrenar a Jordan Chandler, el primer acusador de Michael Jackson. Se supo igualmente que Allen había estado enviando cartas a Hard Copy durante más de un año a nombre de varios niños pretendiendo hacerles pasar como víctimas de Michael Jackson. Cuatro años después, Rodney Allen fue detenido y condenado a cadena perpetua por seis delitos de abuso sexual a menores. Diane Dimond ya había sido demandada por difamación por parte de Michael Jackson con anterioridad, pero había logrado esquivar la demanda bajo la protección del fiscal Tom Sneddon y amparándose en leyes que permitían a los periodistas no tener la certeza de si sus fuentes decían la verdad o no.
