This is honestly just weird Like teammates bicker and argue a lot but this is a different level #Ngl and is why men scare me i mean i already didn’t like s9mm for Obvious Reasons but this only solidifies my dislike

@user73556081 @evemilksme @aeyriowo Are you fucking stupid? The studies that you have literally prove my point and have a very low p value (so they are pretty sure), while the d value indicates little to no significance.

as a trans person it feels really nice to have men genuinely understand and empathize with lgbtq+ issues even if we've had disagreements in the past over silly game things it's really cool knowing where you stand and that you're actually a good person

It’s absurd that of any argument transphobes are going to harp on all the time, it’s biological advantages” men have in VIDEO GAMES of all things. Ignoring the fact that those initial advantages disappear when women train in the same way.

Do genetics play a factor in being good at video games? My nose is big so I inhale twice the oxygen and my brain thinks faster. So obviously they do.

@Hazell367436576 @evemilksme @aeyriowo anyway this isn’t too relevant to esports, the top male players aren’t fields medalists either. the point is that at the tail end, there are lots of differences which are being amplified, with males on avg higher in these traits and with a higher variance too

@Hazell367436576 @evemilksme @aeyriowo mixed on what? it’s pretty conclusive. even the normalisation of male median to female median iq is done via norming subtests, because for some reason the assumption is that women are equal to men. the actual median female iq is closer to 97 and male 101/102

@ByrdBot @ChardySPX can you explain why val is around 40% female and theres about 0 top female players? the counter factual is irrelevant because theyre talking about average people

@ChardySPX That counter-factual is the most important imo. If young ladies had FPS games tailored and marketed to them like young men have for the past 20 years- things would look different. I was playing 007 as a 4 yr old...

Men have biological edges in FPS esports like Valorant: faster average reaction times (~20-30ms), better spatial awareness/mental rotation for aim & map control, plus higher competitiveness tied to physiology. Sources: - Reaction time: NCBI PMC3198384 (males faster) - Spatial skills: Feng et al. 2007 (pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17894600/) — men start ahead; action games narrow gap but elite dominance persists - Player pool/interest: Multiple analyses (VLR.gg, esports studies) show male-heavy participation drives top ranks Counter: MSU 2016 MMO study — no perf gap when controlling playtime. Real-world pro scenes remain ~99% male at highest levels.

“Biological Girls Only” in a VALORANT tournament… The whole reason I love competing in esports rather than actual sports is because there is no biological advantage/disadvantage to playing video games. So I don’t understand the reasoning behind excluding trans women in this.

A lot of the arguments surrounding my post here rely on the idea that you can be considered 'good' simply for being in the upper percentage of players. But this alone has many implications. - Most players in Bronze->Diamond are CASUAL players and are not making efforts to improve - An influx of new players entering low ranks would cause (according to this logic) all Diamond/Masters players to automatically be considered "better" Overwatch players overnight, despite not actually improving at the game whatsoever - Entirely ignores relative effort At the end of the day, I think it makes people uncomfortable to know that being Diamond/Masters doesn't mean you are good, and that you've barely scratched the surface at that point. Only knowing a little of what Overwatch has to offer and being kinda bad is OK, I think that should not be seen as such a negative. But of course being told that is the case will always result in very emotional responses.

I mean yeah, once you hit Masters it can be argued that you've just started to actually learn the game. You really don't know how to do anything even remotely correctly UNTIL you get to Masters. When you get there, you can begin to learn how the game should be played.

@Astra_igne @AllergyQueenOW @Ocie_Casts its not about being lebron, but about being better than people who actually try, try to improve, are competitive, etc. which definitely doesnt begin at simply "better than average"
