Today was the Senate Retreat! We learned Parliamentary Procedure, debated a mock resolution, drafted legislative ideas, and bonded as a Senate Body! Thank you to SGA Vice President Corai Jackson for setting such a strong tone for the beginning of our term.

Last night our 2018-2019 Senators were sworn in by Attorney General Lauren-Hunter Gaudet! Congratulations to our Vice President, Corai Jackson, who led her first Senate meeting, and Caroline Carney, who was elected President Pro Tempore of Senate!

Congratulations to Senators SK Stewart, Hatten Livingston, Dorothy Gault, and Ceili Rassier for passing Bills 3 and 4 of the Spring 2018 Semester. Their bills amend the SGA Constitution and Senate Bylaws to add the position of “Legislative Assistants” to the legislative branch.

This week Freshman Forum passed their first bill (B01S18), establishing the first set of By-Laws to govern the Forum body! Congratulations to the freshmen who made history. Your hard work has paved a foundation for future Freshman Associates to follow.
