Condemnation of the Killing of Abubakar Habane in Tanjol by Berom terrorists, Riyom LGA, Plateau State
The Fulani community in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State wishes to express its deep sorrow, grief, and strong condemnation over the brutal killing of one of its members, Abubakar Habane, a resident of Ngelgagare.
The unfortunate incident occurred in the early hours of today, 6th April 2026, at about 7:00 a.m. in the general area near the riverside in Tanjol, Jol Ward of Riyom LGA.
According to credible information available to the community, the deceased, Abubakar Habane, had gone out alongside his brother, Saidu Shehu, to tend to his calf around the riverside. Unknown to them, more than 30 armed youths had allegedly laid an ambush in the area. In the process, the attackers are suspected to be Berom youths from Tanjol. During the attack, Abubakar Habane was killed, while his brother narrowly escaped.
This senseless and unprovoked act of violence against an innocent civilian is highly condemnable and unacceptable. It reflects the continued vulnerability of Fulani communities and raises serious concerns about their safety and protection.
The Fulani community in Riyom LGA hereby calls on:
Security agencies to immediately launch a thorough investigation into this incident and ensure that all those responsible are identified and brought to justice.
The Plateau State Government to take urgent and decisive steps to protect all citizens, regardless of ethnic or religious background.
Community leaders and stakeholders to work towards de-escalation of tensions and promote peaceful coexistence among all communities.
We strongly urge our members and the general public to remain calm and law-abiding, despite this painful provocation, while we continue to seek justice through lawful means.
The continuous loss of innocent lives must come to an end.
Peace, justice, and fairness remain the only path to lasting stability in Riyom LGA and Plateau State at large.
Signed:
Fulani Community, Riyom LGA

🚨💣BREAKING Bosnian television has found the ball boy who stole Donnarumma's cheat sheet with the penalty takers listed during the World Cup play-off match. 🇧🇦
His name is Afan Cizmic, 14 years old and the biggest star on his team (18 goals in 12 matches).
Afan noticed that Donnarumma had hidden the paper quite far from the goal, next to his towel, and as soon as he got the chance, he went and took it.
The Bosnian channel that interviewed him wants to take him to the World Cup.

BREAKING
ADC is taking its fight for democracy global.
As part of our efforts to strengthen international engagement, we are establishing a Special Representatives Network across key global capitals to engage foreign governments, amplify credible information about Nigeria’s political environment, and counter one-sided government narratives.
This comes amid growing attacks on our members, attempts to undermine our leadership, and efforts to restrict political participation ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
Our representatives will engage foreign governments, international media, democracy institutions, and the Nigerian diaspora, providing regular briefings on political developments, human rights concerns, and electoral integrity.
We are also launching a National Documentation Initiative to systematically track and report incidents affecting political participation across Nigeria.
From Washington DC to London, Brussels to Addis Ababa, ADC is building a global platform for accountability.
Nigeria’s democracy must be seen, heard, and defended everywhere.
