This week, #UVP delivered a training for a new cohort of #communityhealthworkers, or Village Health Teams, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills they need to improve the health and wellbeing of rural communities in #Uganda. We are so grateful for their service!

Under a shady tree, community members from Kyirimbi Village gather for an #obstetricfistula sensitization event to learn about this debilitating birth injury. We're happy to report that UVP signed up five women to receive repair surgery at our upcoming February camp!

In December, we bid farewell to our October Camp Reintegration ladies, having fully recovered from surgery. Here, they are proudly showing off the skirts and dresses they learned how to tailor in our program.

Recovering #Fistula patients have been busy making dresses! Tailoring, a skill they learn during 8 wks of reintegration care, helps pass the time during the healing process and gives these incredible women a new vocation with income-earning potential.
