It’s good news that the Strait of Hormuz has now reopened. This must be a long lasting and workable solution, without tolls or restrictions on routes. Today we announced our joint plan with France and other international partners to protect freedom of navigation. We need to see a return to peace and stability, and a permanent ceasefire.

STRATEGIC MINERALS (SML) = "If demand can’t be satisfied by new supply and the price remains high then at $2,000/mtu the project generates an NPV10 of $4,673m (43p of share value risked at 30%)". Good to see SML the top volume stock in the < £500m market cap category today (c.20% higher than number two). Biggest threat here now to the kind of value on offer is a takeover bid. The market does need to start correctly valuing this mispriced asset as those risks are getting substantially higher.

The Prime Minister appointed Peter Mandelson before the vetting had been completed, vetting Mandelson failed. Starmer then said full due process was followed. THAT is misleading Parliament. I'm only holding him to the same standards to which he’s held previous Prime Ministers - that if they mislead parliament, they should resign. In these dangerous times, Britain cannot afford to have a Prime Minister who the country doesn't trust. Starmer has betrayed our national security. He should go.

BREAKING NEWS (with the potential to be massive): The Guardian reveals Peter Mandelson failed advanced security vetting before becoming US ambassador. He was initially denied developed vetting clearance in January 2025 - weeks after Keir Starmer had officially announced his appointment. Foreign Office was ‘encouraged’ to deploy a rarely-used power to override the recommendation from security officials. The Government promised total transparency on the Mandelson affair after MPs forced it to release of a batch of documents about the process. But nothing it has released reveals this startling fact. #MERC has finished the year ahead of market expectations. In a trading summary for the financial year ended 31 March, Mercia has continued to perform well in the second half. The group now expects its EBITDA for 2026 to be ‘materially ahead’ of current market expectations.
