Hydrogen is the stupidest, most ridiculous, and most impossible energy alternative. It takes 5 to 10 times more energy than it returns. This has been known since 2004, yet hydrogen refuses to die. It is far from renewable because it contains no energy at all—energy must be forced into it like a battery—and you lose even more when converting it back to electricity. It has the worst energy return of any alternative: far more energy goes in than you ever get back. Consider the process: you first split hydrogen from natural gas or use far more energy to electrolyze it from water, then compress or liquefy it, build extremely expensive and short-lived steel containers and pipelines (since hydrogen embrittles them), and finally deliver it to virtually non-existent hydrogen vehicles. Fuel cell technology remains far from commercial. It is also highly explosive. Hydrogen requires 12 times less energy to ignite than gasoline vapor, so the smallest spark or heat source can turn it into a bomb.

I have a 16GB M1 Macbook. 16GB isn't enough for some decelopers with specific workloads. Much less 8GB. In some of my workloads 8GB would be fine. But one of the projects at my work choked hard and often on 16GB. I would absolutely make a boanket claim like this.

@wmf @SquashBionic I hate to admit it but you're probably right. As long as FSR4 works the majority of people will be fine with the naming, even though every indication is that the actual RDNA4 uArch would bring significant perf uplifts on an APU - most people wouldn't know that.

Let me just get things straight. AMD Ryzen department has been doing awesome things, but the Radeon department has been REALLY slow in past year, and I saw some people defending them with Dumb arguments. Let's think about it: FSR 4 - The last Great Addition they made (march 2025) FSR FG (ML) - Came in with great quality and sometimes improved latency, but had some issues with Frame Pacing that have been proved to be driver sided... Now things get interesting with "Redstone" features that were announced a long time ago. Ray Regeneration - Present in ONE GAME, and not even one that really matter, and no one will be playing COD: BO7 with Ray Tracing enabled... Radiance Caching - NOT A SINGLE GAME supporting it... On top of that, they showed Warhammer 40k: Darktide running it on the promotion presentations, but then stated it could not come to that same game they showed... FSR4 was released almost ONE YEAR AGO and still NO support for Vulkan! On top of that, there's no MFG, no improved upscaling and most importantly, NO SUPPORT for older cards, while we know that FSR4 INT8 exists and just works!! On top of this, AMD is pulling a "No comments" attitude leaving their customers without knowing if they will (or not) get any support of features soon. This all to say, we shall defend what has to be defended, but in all honesty, there's no defence here. Unless AMD pulls something really interesting soon, people will keep switching to NVIDIA and while AMD had a golden opportunity with RDNA4 in many levels, they just followed the good old "AMD never misses the opportunity of missing and opportunity". And whoever defends this, well... deserves the market we have now...
