@RossWynne Totally agree Ross, i had similar cases when they mention that they have skills building full VMware clouds (vSphere, vSAN, NSX, VCD, VCDA, ...) in their CVs, and then it turns out that they simply shadowed the PSO team during the engagement or just finished the ICM courses 😐

I remember interviewing folks who rated themselves 5/5 on Cloud Director… When I probed them it was based on watching YouTube videos… Their NSX experience was 5/5 but that was solely based on an install in a home lab not a production environment. Don’t lie or grossly exaggerate on a CV, it ruins any level of trust in the things you actually have done well!

My 2c on #WorkFromHome vs #ReturnToOffice It’s not one or the other. It’s intelligent and valuable staff making the decision in real time on where and how to work to maximize their value to the organisation. My team primarily work from home / remotely. Why does this work? I’ve built a team of “A Players” who are trustworthy, self motivated, disciplined and who don’t hesitate to ask for help. I look forward to increasing the number and frequency of team offsite events where we get together, as face to face interaction is still valuable, but just not required day to day in the vast majority of cases especially with top talent. #CIO #CTO #CEO
