I don’t understand why every vehicle isn’t a hybrid. Why not use regenerative braking to charge a battery in every car? Huge increase in gas mileage. Why do they still make non-hybrids?

How dare you. The SpaceX team said that the booster was never designed to come back to the launchpad yesterday. It was all preplanned. Sarcasm. Elon Musk has had about 10 booster failures now. There's a fatal flaw in that design. It's this hot stage decoupling that's causing the problem.

I slowed down and resynched the engine diagram during the booster engine restart, that's a pretty hard failure that damaged neighbours.
