Not a sly, but the thing with nepo kids is (esp. DQ, NC, Shruthi Haasan, Akhil, Jahnvi etc..) the parents send them off to the States - NYFA, AFI, USC, RFA, Dubai, Chennai whateva.. - to study film, basically bring em up away from the core audience they're eventually expected to perform for. And then they wonder why they struggle to connect when they come back here.
Ofc they gonna be lost. They have very little lived experience of the culture they're trying to represent on screen. DQ will never be “mallu enof”. Shruti will never be “tamizh enof”. Likewise, NC and Akhil. They don't instinctively get their people, the pop-culture references, the jokes, the little cultural cues.
It takes a lot of unlearning for them to bridge that gap and re-integrate. Only a few do (like Venky), while most struggle. I wonder, if they're so sure their kids are gonna be actors, why even send them away?
