The 2028 World Cup is an NHL/NHLPA for profit initiative. Zero politics-just pure hockey Patriotism. Would you ban Russian players from playing in the NHL?--Maybe you would--But they are not. Then why and how would you ban union members from an NHL/NHLPA event? The event is selling the game, not making statements. A huge majority of fans want Russia in. The players want Russia to play. And the NHL should want it. They make a major contribution to the business of the NHL. I'm a little surprised the PA would agree to a tournament without all of its members. And if other countries are threatening not to allow their NHL players to play in a fun and awesome hockey tournament, then I'd say, "OK. You can tell your players that."

I honestly can't imagine what he must've felt in those final two minutes of the third. One of the cleanest players in the @NHL. ZERO (!) penalty minutes this season and to get a penalty in a game this close. But what a redemption!

@davidlee @PatrickMoorhead The 3 on 5 PK and a couple shifts where US forward lost a stick in his own zone, making it akin 4 on 5 for the US, shifted the momentum of the game entirely. US didn't really get back in the game until the OT. They played really well/better than Canada the first half of the game.

Matthews is an incredible goal-scorer and one of the most versatile centers in hockey. People who are criticizing him are the same people we criticized Marner (another amazing player); and we all see how well that worked out for Toronto this year. Neither has been the cause of Toronto's woes. Move him from Berube's snoozefest to Edmonton, Colorado or Dallas, and he will score your 60 goals/year again.

@penguinvesting @mvcinvesting Given all the publicly available information about the state of the market, you should brace for increased CapEx spend along with delayed/vague timelines. No reason to expect a bump-up in guidance since the latter is hinging on the former.

Great write. Personally I think the market will freak out on the capEx and financing unless targets are raised. I'm expecting them to maintain their guidance and provide additional color on things but we should not have the expectation that they will double guidance every quarter.
