Web3 is converging with TradFi: token revenue (finally!) matters, institutions buy DeFi tokens, RWAs move onchain, stablecoins reshape fiat. Now prime brokerage is being rebuilt natively: - non-custodial (I thought that it's basic stuff but in reality some risk curators are still custodial) - Tech -> trust (zkTLS+offchain risk compute+onchain zk verification) - Focus on minimizing the underlying protocol risk Looking forward to see much more on web3-grade PB this year.

After a 192x oversubscribed round on @legiondotcc and 272x oversubscribed round on Binance Wallet totaling nearly $800m, $YB just TGE'ed @yieldbasis is such a beautifully simple protocol by @CurveFinance 's founder @newmichwill that actually solves a real, massive problem in crypto Here's everything you need to know: Yield Basis lets you provide BTC as liquidity to an AMM pool without suffering from impermanent loss -- A quick primer on IL: If you provide liquidity to a traditional AMM, if the underlying asset goes up in price, you'll be missing out on gains For example: Say you deposit 1 BTC (assuming price is $100k) and $100k of USDC into a pool If BTC doubles to $200k, your position would automatically get rebalanced to maintain equal value in each token, so you'll end up with ~.7 BTC and $141k USDC for a total of $282k If you had just held your BTC and USDC outside the pool, they'd be worth $300k That ~$18k difference is impermanent loss. Yield Basis fixes this by using some clever math to make sure the value of your LP position tracks linearly to the underlying asset's price (More details in my memo on @bidclubio here: bidclub.io/posts/cmgpq7ut…) -- The protocol just increased their TVL cap from $30m to $150m, and assuming the cap continues to grow to even just $1B, we can expect a fair token price of up to $6.6 Given how much demand there was for the presale, I imagine the market clearly understands this and we'll see people sizing in on dips when presalers start to offload
