Reminder; several autistics (myself included) are having their writing flagged as "AI". While I understand the sentiment and certainly I find it annoying that individuals writing skills have atrophied with AI reliance, a blanket statement like this provides a disservice.

The "Pope Leo wrote his AI encyclical using AI" guy also happens to engage in "dialogue" involving gene editing to erase autistics (screenshot to the poll in the replies of the quoted thread). The faux intellectualism to eugenics pipeline remains undefeated.

@LinchZhang @hildherlo I've been told no less than six times in the last four months about how I should "stop using AI to write things" or "I want to speak to a human". Very, very common for autistic writing to be similar to AI. You seem very insistent to dismiss autistic lived experiences.

Sarah is correct, it's absolutely a privilege. With my health being worse I have more difficulty masking to the point where it doesn't happen anymore, and it shows because people treat me *very* differently now.

The ability to successfully mask your disability in efforts to avoid discrimination is a privilege in itself. When people can't mask (or do so successfully), they sink in the system everytime. I have been on both sides, there is a huge difference. I wish I had that ability.

AI hasn't just made people's writing skills worse, it's made their reading worse too. I've had multiple people say that I'm using AI to write things, when in actuality I tend to write more formal than most. Also, on a related note:

In fact, there's several items that can be worked on in parallel with a larger goal. Setting everything up as being mutually exclusive is not remotely geared towards the common good.
