more than a quarter of all code reviewed by greptile is now written by "background agents" - completely autonomous e2e coding agents like devin. we analyzed millions of PRs written by background agents and compared their - code churn rates - revert rates - bugs per PR against human baseline. read the full post on our blog!

@greptile just got a brand refresh done entirely in-house. we pulled inspiration from moments in the past that once felt futuristic, from the terminal to video games, 80s malls, neon genesis, and of course reptiles, their repeating scales, and their colorful environments. the result is a diverse color palette, intricate illustrations, and modular geometric forms that feel complex yet precise and ethereal. 🧵the process and thinking below:

Today we’re releasing Greptile Agent v4, our best code review agent yet. It’s catches more tricky bugs than v3, while also having far fewer false positives. We're also updating our pricing to help us support power users.

we're looking for great engineers at greptile to build agents that catch bugs. over the last year, we've grown from zero to millions in revenue, thousands of customers including top engineering teams of all sizes like scale, brex, whoop, substack, partiful and multiple F500s. software is eating the world, and autonomous validation is an extremely difficult problem. if we succeed, there is an opportunity here to build a large and important company. this is a particularly interesting time to join the team. we have laid the groundwork to be able to work on a variety of hard and interesting problems. i'm especially proud of the early team we have built. it's hard to overstate the joy of getting to work with brilliant people that care deeply about their work and about each other. if you're excited about a future that is free of bugs, we'd love to hear from you :)

Had a blast having @bekacru from @better_auth over at the @greptile office this week to talk about auth, building for devs, and developer taste. After having used about half a dozen auth libraries and frameworks for side projects and production applications, @better_auth is by far the best and dev friendly one to set up. We are happily migrating over to it.

Introducing Faultlines: A graphic design book chronicling some of the biggest bugs in history. Faultlines maps the earliest bugs, from the Harvard Mark 2 and Mars Pathfinder, all the way to Crowdstrike. Designed and produced entirely in house. We’re doing a limited print of this book and sending out hard copies to the first 300 new developers that add a repo on Greptile. Give it a read here ⬇️

Greptile has raised $25M to Kill The Bug. The round is led by Benchmark with @ericvishria joining our board. Today, code is written by humans and a variety of coding agents like Devin, Claude Code, and Cursor. Greptile serves as the independent and universal code review layer. This month alone, Greptile reviewed 500M lines of code for top companies like Brex, Substack, PostHog, Bilt, and even YC’s internal software team, helping prevent 180,000+ bugs. Alongside our Series A - we’re excited to announce Greptile v3 - a brand new agent architecture capable of catching >3x more critical bugs than Greptile v2. Available now to all users. 🧵
