How does a "garbage" 3-point shooter miraculously become a good 3-point shooter every time his shot volume increases?
On the one hand, these casuals want to use stats. Then on the other, they ignore the fundamental tenet of stats: that lower volume = more sample size variance, more noise, and higher inaccuracies.
Any statistician worth their salt will tell you that MJ's stats at a higher volume are more reflective of his true skill than those at a lower volume. This is Stats 101.
MJ proved that he was a good 3-point shooter as his shot volume increased. It simply wasn't part of his game during an era that devalued 3s, so he didn't take them. When taking them in volume, he made them, and became even better during the Playoffs and Finals.
The data is unassailable.
