Don't know of many EMs with so much going for them as 🇲🇽, especially now with this new nearshoring impulse. Also the demographics (in size and youth), mineral resources, powerful culture and some geographical advantages like their two coasts, connecting it to both Asia and the EU
Opened an IBKR account some weeks ago and now I'm fascinated with the mexican market. Less than 150 listed co's and I still found ~25 interesting names! Now trying to make it 5-10 but I'd happily invest in an equal-weight IPC etf, if there was any!
@mind_the_bear I have also struggled to understand them. They should have healthy margins given prices(not the case). The size of company vs brand recognition doesnt match. I beleive a good luxury operator could do a lot with the brand. Although cant invest on speculation.
Don't know what to make of Bang & Olufsen $BO.CO, not even as a stock but as a brand. Is it a "has-been" brand? A "wannabe" luxury brand? A true luxury one?
One thing they have going for them - they're one of the very few high-end audio pure-play stocks available.
@IggyOnInvesting Prologis, focused on industrial real estate. Traxion, trucking co.
Although, none of the obvious benefitters from nearshoring seem cheap to me.
@ideahive Mexican property developer Cadu, P/B 0.2, P/E 2.8.
Struggled with debt in Covid, market priced it for bankruptcy. The company survived and is again healthy, but the market forgot to correct the price accordingly.
There's a Mexican stock that is the cheapest, highest quality thing I have ever seen, but crazy illiquid. I've been bidding for a month and so far I have $210 worth of shares. Not gonna give up though.
Últimamente he visto videos promocionales sobre invertir en Fibra CFE en YouTube (además de los de Bimbo). Burbuja. El viernes vendí todos mis títulos, llevaba un tiempo pensando en deshacer la posición.
