🚨 Arsenal’s set-piece specialist Nicolas Jover reportedly received a £10,000 bonus for every goal the club scored from corners or free-kicks this season. 💰 The Gunners broke the Premier League record for set-piece goals in a single campaign, scoring 25 in the league alone — including 19 directly from corners. 👀 Arsenal ended the season with 34 set-piece goals across all competitions, with Jover’s influence seen as a major factor behind their title-winning season. Talks over a new contract are expected this summer. 🏆 (Source: Football Insider)

Kindness and knowledge
The nurse who took this photo said: “This patient was admitted to the hospital three days ago, and in all this time no family member has come to visit him or take care of him.” She said she took the photo because every two days, a pigeon would come in and sit on his bed for a few minutes… Later it was learned that the old man used to feed that pigeon while sitting on a bench in the park near the hospital. Animals sometimes show more humanity than humans. 🕊️🤍

🚨 WHAT LAMINE YAMAL DID WITH HIS FIRST BIG PAYCHECK According to [3CA], when Lamine signed his first massive professional contract with Barcelona, his teammates asked him which luxury sports car he was going to buy. Lamine reportedly smiled and said, "I am too young to drive a Ferrari." My first paycheck is not for me. I sent it straight to my grandmother's village in Africa to build a football pitch with real grass and buy new boots for all the kids there. I want them to know that the football dream doesn't only happen in Europe it starts in our roots. When those kids smile, my heart is richer than any car could ever make me.

Petersen stopped short of directly criticising Broos but made it clear he felt he had done more than enough to earn a place in the squad heading to North America. Many fans and pundits had strongly backed Petersen as the third-choice goalkeeper, citing his composure, shot-stopping ability, and recent form as superior to Goss in the current season. The decision leaves Petersen watching the World Cup from home after coming agonizingly close. Earlier in the build-up, Broos had publicly acknowledged Petersen’s quality, even noting he would have been in previous squads but for timing and form fluctuations. That only adds to the sense of frustration for the Chiefs keeper. Despite the setback, Petersen is expected to channel the disappointment into his club duties. Kaizer Chiefs supporters have rallied behind their No. 1, with many calling the omission one of the biggest talking points — and disappointments — of Broos’ final squad announcement. South Africa will head into the 2026 tournament with Williams, Chaine, and Goss as the three goalkeepers. Whether Broos’ choice proves correct remains to be seen when Bafana Bafana kick off their campaign. Petersen’s comments reflect the raw emotion many South African football fans are feeling today: pride in qualification mixed with questions over certain selections. For the Chiefs goalkeeper, the journey continues at club level — but the dream of World Cup participation will have to wait. Brandon Petersen Voices Frustration After Hugo Broos Snubs Him for Ricardo Goss in 2026 FIFA World Cup Squad Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Petersen has broken his silence after being omitted from Bafana Bafana’s final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with coach Hugo Broos opting to take Ricardo Goss instead. The announcement of the squad on May 27, 2026, at the Union Buildings sparked widespread debate, particularly around the goalkeeping department. While Ronwen Williams remains the undisputed No. 1, the battle for the backup spots between Sipho Chaine, Ricardo Goss, and Petersen had been one of the most talked-about stories leading into the final selection. Petersen enjoyed a stellar Betway Premiership campaign for Amakhosi, delivering consistent performances, crucial clean sheets, and moments of leadership between the posts that helped Chiefs secure a strong league finish. However, despite the form, Broos chose experience and familiarity with Goss over the Chiefs shot-stopper. In an emotional interview shortly after the squad reveal, Petersen expressed clear frustration while maintaining his professionalism. He directly addressed the snub and the challenges he faced throughout the domestic season.“It’s disappointing, no doubt about it,” Petersen said. “I’ve worked extremely hard this season and put in performances that I believe warranted consideration for the World Cup. To be overlooked in favour of Ricardo Goss after everything I’ve shown on the pitch is tough to swallow. I can’t control the coach’s decision, but it doesn’t make it any less frustrating.” He went on to highlight the personal toll of the criticism he endured during the Betway Premiership campaign: “This year I faced a lot of attacks — from fans, critics, and social media — sometimes unfairly. But I stayed focused, kept my head down, and responded where it matters most: on the field. I kept clean sheets, made big saves, and showed leadership. For that not to be enough when it comes to representing my country at the biggest stage… it hurts. I’m human. It stings.”
