Take a job that works for *you* & stop listening to people who try to make you feel bad about your life choices
This kind of advice is often selfishly motivated. Be especially skeptical of advice from startup founders or folks who've never held a full-time job outside academia.

PhD graduates in AI mostly take boring jobs at big tech companies due to short-term monetary incentives. While understandable to some degree, it's also quite sad to see so many great researchers 'disappear' and give up their talent - join or do your own startup instead!

we can now talk about “RbA: Segmenting Unknown Regions Rejected by All” accepted at #ICCV2023. we found that when we find and classify regions with Mask2Former, each object query focuses on a known class. so we can find unknowns as pixels rejected by all, hence the funny name 😃

It was truly an amazing opportunity to attend talks that spanned from `ML in the Large Hadron Collider` to `RL for algorithm discovery`. The diversity of topics showcased the vast applications of ML, broadening our horizons as researchers of applied sciences.
