Worth the wait: Bathurst marked Kelvin van der Linde’s first #IGTC win since Suzuka 2019! That one was also with WRT back when the Belgian squad oversaw Audi’s factory entries. Augusto Farfus’ drought wasn’t quite as long: he scored two victories during his 2020 title-winning campaign. Sheldon VDL, meanwhile, can’t stop winning. This was his second in as many IGTC events, albeit split across two seasons.

Thank you and good night: with a new Evo incoming, the first gen M4 GT3’s already successful front line factory career concluded in fitting fashion at Bathurst. WRT’s Bimmers didn’t miss a beat en route to a one-two finish and the manufacturer’s maiden GT3 era 12 Hour win. Fuel saving was a key component of the victory. Sacrificing ultimate lap time allowed the BMWs to run 35-lap stints, often one or even two more than their rivals. #32 made its final stop with 34 laps remaining - right on the limit without consistent fuel management. “I had a fuel surge on the way to the podium ceremony, so it was very, very tight,” confirmed Kelvin van der Linde. “But the Ferrari really turned up today. They were flying in that last stint. I could never have done a 2:02, so I said to the team, ‘Look, it’s going to be difficult. Try to save or hit my fuel numbers’.” #IGTC | #B12Hr 🦘

A night of mixed feelings in Daytona. Unfortunately, both BMW M Hybrid V8s suffered minor technical issues which cost them several laps. The good news is: The Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3 is leading the GTD PRO class. 💪
