@mwseibel @AaQq85890411 France’s framework is pretty good. - Political ads are banned. - Campaign donations are capped to 4.6k per person. - Total campaign spending is capped (16.8m for first round and 22.5m for second). - Lobbying must be disclosed and financial contributions are prohibited.

@AaQq85890411 I don’t know practically how you do this. When some many people have an interest in the rules of society I don’t think you can effectively prevent people from trying to influence those rules. Has any country succeeded at what you are trying to accomplish?

@gokulr I feel like we have a different definition of product design. Making mockups is like 30% of the job. The most important part is identifying problems and figuring out creative solutions. The PM and PrD scopes have always overlapped. Plus, the bar is higher than ever for UI.

DESIGN: THE FIRST AI CASUALTY I'm increasingly sure that 2026 signals the end of product design as a full-fledged stand-alone function within companies. If so, it will be the first role / function to be eliminated by AI on a go-forward basis. Instead of hiring FT designers, startups are hiring / will hire design consultants to create a design system that the founder likes (this takes a few weeks max). Once the design system is finalized, PM/Eng feed it into their AI tool of choice to generate prototypes. The design system is refreshed annually by the same consultant. Larger companies will likely not backfill design roles and will do some targeted attrition to reduce the design department to 20% the size it is today. If you're a designer, I think you have two choices: 1. Become an entrepreneur: Start a design agency and become the go-to resource for design systems for startups and even larger companies. This can be a good recurring revenue business. 2. Become a builder: Add PM/Eng responsibilities to become a product builder. Would suggest you embrace this proactively vs waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'm really sorry about this - some of my best friends and the people I admire most and have learnt the most from are designers - but it seems inevitable.

@gabe__perez Tbh same with GPT models. But I'm not sure I have the skills / I don't use those models... I'd love to collab with someone technical on this. I think i'd be super cool if it also worked with Claude Desktop app & IDEs (like VS code & co).

@itskasturiii It’s because at the end of the day it’s not a tool for designers, it’s made by and for people who can’t design

the issue with Claude design is that it’s not a canvas. might be a skill issue but my visual thinking is faster than my ability to translate it into words. until i can move things around in a canvas, i’m not leaving Figma. i don’t want to prompt every change when i already know what i’m trying to do

@vecartier smart combo. kokoro + whisperkit for local is fast. curious how it handles accented speech — thats where on-device stt usually drops off vs cloud

I use Claude Code every day but I keep getting distracted by other stuff. Come back 20 minutes later and it's been waiting for a permission or finished ages ago. So I vibe coded a little pager that floats on my desktop that tells me when Claude needs me and lets me answer...

The whole thing is vibe coded with Claude Code. First open source project, probably imperfect in every way, but I use it a lot and wanted to share it. Not affiliated with Anthropic. but got inspired by the community. cc @trq212 @_catwu @jenny_wen

Technical bits if you're curious: - Pure Swift + SwiftUI, zero external dependencies - IPC via local HTTP server (NWListener) receiving hook events from Claude Code - On-device STT (WhisperKit + Apple Speech) and TTS (Kokoro + Apple) - Everything runs locally

@lydiahallie I've just realised that whenever I use extended thinking, even once or twice (in claude, not claude code). It torpedoes my usage. Might be worth a look

We're aware people are hitting usage limits in Claude Code way faster than expected. Actively investigating, will share more when we have an update!

I want to start a community dedicated to Claude Code. It’s become the gateway drug to coding and experiencing the power of AI for tons of people. This will be a space for people to share killer use cases, agentic workflows, proven prompts, and connect with other CC obsessives. Comment “Claude” if you want to join.

@david_attisaas How much upfront money is needed to get the engine going and maintain cashflow when you start with ads?

this 1.5 month payout delay is really annoying indeed. it protects the users though who can ask for a refund at any moment... even a month or so later and for the upfront needed cash if you're not from usa or similar, it it's hard to get a bank credit line for that. another solution could be finding an investor or asking family/friends. saul isn't the first person facing this need for cash issue and won't be the last one. others from outside the usa have figured it out and found a solution to make it work. 2/ I assume the content that worked with paid ads could work as organic content though provided the content isn't too salesy.
Saul Sabino@sabino_sau14094

Hey man, the main issue is really the cash flow from Apple’s delayed payout. I’m bootstrapped, so when you scale fast you burn through cash way quicker than what Apple pays back. My CAC is profitable, the ads work, but without upfront cash it’s hard to keep the momentum. I don’t use a credit card because I’m not American and don’t live in the US, and getting one from abroad has been complicated since most banks require being there in person
