PML-N and PPP keep bashing each other. Sometimes they become buddies, and at other times they become rivals. Somehow, they manage to fool the public. However, they have lost the public’s trust – especially PPP’s. Pay attention to them. People are no longer defending either of them; only their media cells are doing that. Otherwise, there was a time when people voluntarily jumped in to support PPP.

When Kashmiris were being killed, why did human rights organizations remain silent? That’s why I always say they speak up only when it suits them.

It doesn’t mean that people are not protesting, but selective outrage is an issue. If you are protesting from Islamabad or Lahore, you will be supported, discussed on TV channels, and elite media will publish pieces about it. However, if you are from Sindh, Balochistan, KP or Pakistan-administered Kashmir — you get barely any support. Sindhi students have been protesting in Sindh for months against the Sindh government; tell me, how much do you know about them? There was a sit-in in Sindh for a month demanding the return of missing children, and that protest was forcibly removed by the police.
