It's so sporty because I would be out on the veranda where I was staying enjoying the peace and views, and ever so often a truck or car with a soundsystem would pass by with Bouyon BLASTING. I mean shaking up the walls and ting. The duality was so funny and special to me

Fun facts about 🇩🇲 There is an area called "Valley of Desolation" that has the 2nd largest Boiling Lake (🇳🇿 is 1st) Largest concentration of 🌋 (on land) Caribbean. When you go to Scott’s Head (a 🌋 peninsula) you can see the Atlantic Ocean (E) and the Caribbean Sea (W)

Mas Domnik 1947. Back then carnival consisted of masks, batons, drums & jing ping music. Chantay mas which is also part of our bele dances, were made up on the days beforehand or on the actual carnival day. Costumes were pieced together from old clothes. 🇩🇲🇩🇲 📸Robert Lord
