BREAKING: #Marineland has begun moving 6 of its 30 surviving beluga whales to the US. After the now-for-sale marine park threatened to kill all of its remaining whales, Canada approved permits allowing them to be shipped across the border. After decades of suffering for human entertainment, it's deeply disappointing that none of these belugas will go to a seaside sanctuary. Canada has not made the export permits public, raising concerns that the whales could be used for breeding—despite Canada's laws banning captive breeding.

Random people stop traffic and save a baby moose trapped on one side of a highway median. I remember when my nieces were young and separated from their mom. They would cry and run back and forth, just like this little one. How can we do anything BUT rescue? It's who we are.
