We recently ran a poll about adding a number plate lip in the app — so your car’s nickname is easier to spot in your garage 🚗 Nearly half of UK drivers have given their car a nickname, with lots of people choosing human names like Baby, Betty, Daisy and Ruby.

This wasn’t just another car for me - it was the start of something bigger. The first of what would eventually become 14 x BMWs owned, and the marque that’s had the biggest influence on my automotive journey. I’d have another E30 325i in a heartbeat.

BMW were ahead of their game during the 80s era. I bought it from a dealer at the bottom of my road. The engine was very tappy when I got it, but I didn’t let that put me off. A set of new camshafts later and it quietened down a lot, running sweetly ever after.
