I'm at a loss of what to do. Remember my dear friend and his wife, who left Orthodoxy a long while back, but still at least remained Christian? Well, now my friend apparently gave up his faith entirely (his wife is still Christian, though). Please, please pray for both of them

There are a number of well respected Orthodox priests who have advised people to avoid you bc of you teaching error. Maybe you should have some humility and ask yourself why that is the case. Why would I go to some anonymous X account from a 20 year old catechumen for theology, when we have literal PHDs and seasoned Priests who know what they’re talking about. It’s hubris to think you know better than them.

@reformedroom @syd_bee3 @untoldmisfortun I mean, given that she has an article claiming that "God" refers to multiple different things, and used fake AI quotes to argue that "the God" is a name proper only to the Father, she actually is intimately familiar with heterodox theology.

Oh boy, do I know this struggle well. I gained freaking so much weight during covid and I had the hardest time losing it for so long, a good 5 years or so. Only now have I FINALLY seemed to figure out what exactly to do diet/exercise wise with the help of an RDN as well as a little help from this supplement I'm taking. I'm also starting a GLP-1 (Wegovy) soon to make it go even faster. But so far I've lost 10 lbs in just 3 weeks!

Today was a major depresso day for me, mainly over my lost friend and also this massive anhedonia I've had for weeks.
I venerated one of St. Seraphim of Sarov's relics and just screamed internally, "please help me"
By the end of the following pan-orthodox vespers, I felt completely better
God is real and so are his Saints ☦️

@thereisonlyz @thaddeusthought There are certainly good disc servers out there, just pretty hard to find tbh. I am part of just a few, including one very tiny, well-vetted Orthodox server. It's quiet on there a lot but when people do talk, it's poppin.

Unfortunately I gotta withdraw my recommendation of this server.
I don't know who is running it but they'rebanning anyone who disagrees with them and banning people for things that are not sinful or unOrthodox in any way.
I just got banned for saying it isn't sinful for people to have preferences on personal appearance, and they quoted a Bible verse and then banned me.

@veiled_sakura I think leadership always picks leaders like them, and then servers look too much like the niche leadership community.
Leaders of groups have to be very militant about policing their own biases and seeing that their server needs space for both blunt people and gentle people.
