Two Royal #Moroccan Air Force 🇲🇦 Apache AH-64E #helicopters maneuvering probably in Khouribga region, the location of our #Apaches home base. One AH-64E is equipped with a Longbow #radar, and the other is not. By ordering 18 #Longbow and 36 AH-64E, MAF will apply a ratio of one Longbow radar for every two #AH64E helicopters, which is a high ratio 👍 #Morocco #Maroc

I already explained in another post that the option has been activated. There are clues in the firm equipment orders; for example, we placed a firm order for 18 Longbows, and the number 18 indicates that it's for 36 Apaches. We also ordered 72 engines; each Apache has 2 engines, so 72 corresponds to 36 AH-64Es. Other equipment follows the same logic, so the option for 12 additional engines has been activated 😌

Royal #Moroccan Air Force 🇲🇦 F-5 Tiger III Modernization Program. In the early 2000s, Moroccan AF decided to launch a modernization program for its fleet of Northrop F-5 fighters in cooperation with @ElbitSystemsLtd. The upgrade commonly called "Tiger III" standard was partly carried out in Morocco, aimed to extend the operational life of the platform while significantly enhancing its #combat capabilities. This upgrade is almost identical to the #Brazilian AF F-5 modernization program. The main objective was to wait for the arrival of the #F16 about ten years later. The program upgraded #Morocco’s F-5 aircraft by integrating the EL/M-2032 multi-mode #radar, improving air-to-#air and air-to-ground/#sea targeting capabilities. The modernization also introduced new : - Digital #cockpit/Avionics/HUD... and the integration of Litening II targeting pod, enhancing #pilot awareness and enabling precision-#strike missions. Additionally, the aircraft gained the capacity to carry advanced #weapons such as AAM Python/Derby missiles, and a batch of Delilah stand-off cruise #missile was acquired very discreetly. These improvements transformed the F-5s into more capable multirole fighters, extending their operational #life in the Royal Moroccan AF. After the #Dassault Mirage F2000 replacement by the F-16 Block 72, the F-5s will be the next to be replaced in next years. Today they primarily perform air policing missions, but they retain the capability for close air support and precision strikes thanks to Delilah missile and Litening 2 pod.
