FlowState Official Launch Announcement Today marks the beginning of something big. We are proud to officially introduce FlowState — a new competitive platform dedicated to hosting regular tournaments for the Call of Duty community right here in South Africa 🇿🇦 Our mission is simple: To grow the local scene, create consistent opportunities for players, teams, and organizations, and help elevate esports in South Africa to the level it deserves. Our events are designed for everyone. We’ll be hosting open tournaments, as well as dedicated brackets for those still learning and competing at an amateur or challenger level. At the same time, we’ll be creating high-level competitions where top teams can go head-to-head at the highest standard. And we haven’t forgotten about the queens of CODZa — ladies-only events will also be part of our ecosystem. Our primary focus is competitive Call of Duty, while ensuring opportunities exist across all levels, from amateurs and challengers to elite players and women in the scene. FlowState will follow the same rules and competitive structure as the Call of Duty League, including the enforcement of GA’s (Gentlemen’s Agreements). This means the format is essentially a 1-to-1 replication of the official Call of Duty League system to ensure consistency and competitive integrity. Alongside our tournaments, we will be actively creating and pushing content around every event, team, and organization involved—showcasing the talent, stories, and competition within the community. Through consistent media across social platforms, our goal is to expand the audience, attract new sponsors, and open up bigger and better opportunities for everyone involved. We’re starting small, but with the support of the community, this will grow. The more momentum and engagement we see, the bigger the prize pools will become, and the more frequent events we’ll be able to host—giving everyone more opportunities to compete and win. Curious to know what exactly constitutes this matter as resolved? The fact that you even have to apologize for such behavior is the problem in and of itself. This isn’t the type of thing you say “sorry” for and it makes everything okay. Let’s stop pretending like you’re sorry for what happened and call it as it is - you’re only sorry that people know about it and it’s become an issue. Myself aside, the problem is that there’s an individual (Mikhail) representing the so-called “top organization” in our CODZA scene that consistently seeks to publicly defame, shame, and tear down other people at any chance. He goes around telling people cancer should’ve killed them, calling women whores, and never hesitates to let the people that are trying to compete and improve their gameplay know that they’re horrible at the game and should quit/retire. We used to have a community full of respectful, considerate, and talented individuals who all collectively contributed towards fostering positive growth and focused on maintaining a healthy and competitive scene where everyone could get along. Now, It’s all been ruined and put to shame by empowering individuals such as this who do nothing but rob the community of everything they’ve worked so hard to build over the last 10+ years just because they think they’re invincible. Maybe instead of apologizing for PR over twitter, you should re-evaluate the types of players and individuals you choose to represent your organization and start actually caring about the community instead of your public appearance. Your role as an org should be to build and contribute to the gaming communities - not empowering disgusting people who do nothing but tear them down. And since you love PR so much and want to make it all look pretty and resolved on twitter, I’ll do everyone a favor and tag all the parties involved so they can be made aware.
