Section IV Class A Softball Championship game at Greenlight Networks Grand Slam Park on May 25th between #1-Maine-Endwell and #2-Owego Free Academy has been canceled due to OFA not having the minimum number of players. M-E will advance to the NYSPHSAA Softball Tournament.

@kerri_lav @Sect4Athletics Section 4 has been pushing flag football hard and encouraging dual sport athletes in spring to fill out rosters. Let the girls play!

@Sect4Athletics Unfortunate the Section could not accommodate the request to change the date. Most of the girls on the OFA softball team also have a regional competition for the school's Flag Football team. Agreed @vestalfbcoaches, there was plenty of time for this game to have been played.

@BrianTDonohue77 @RobertZayasNY @NYSPHSAA Give schools the guidelines to make those decisions what can and cannot be done safely. No one is trying to rush into a model where it’s not safe. State certified coaches however should be allowed to at least follow an open gym policy with a phased in approach.

Governor Cuomo just stated guidance on high school sports to come out next week. Looking forward to continuing our discussions to ensure student athlete safety is paramount. @NYSPHSAA
