Daniel’s roles within the @NEUnion include National Executive member from 2019, National President in 2021 and local officer in Durham. Daniel was the winner of the prestigious Blair Peach Award in 2017 for outstanding contributions to social justice.

Daniel is a qualified primary teacher, with a law degree from the University of Wales, who has taught all ages from Early Years to Key Stage 4. He will take his position from the 1st September 2023.

The government is turning a blind eye to egregious rights abuses in pursuit of trade deals.

This deal allows corporations to sue the UK government in secret courts for threatening their profits with policies such as the minimum wage or public ownership of energy companies.

Exploitation is widespread in countries involved in the pact. Trade unions are banned in Brunei and Vietnam, and Malaysian migrant workers are subject to forced labour.
