Vino a devolverte a Dios sin intermediarios. El hombre siempre ha querido organizar, administrar y hasta cobrar lo divino, si es posible. Jesús hizo lo contrario. No trajo una nueva religión para competir con otras. Solo dijo: "Sígueme". Sin membresía. Cuando habló del Reino hablaba de una realidad invisible: "El Reino de Dios está dentro de vosotros". Y, sin embargo, el ser humano hizo lo de siempre: tomó lo vivo y lo volvió estructura. La palabra que luego se tradujo como “iglesia” -ekklesía- nunca significó templo. Significaba gente convocada. Y así, lo que era camino, se volvió sistema. El punto de quiebre no fue espiritual. Fue político. Cuando Constantino abrazó el cristianismo, no lo hizo para profundizar el Reino sino para organizarlo, y lo organizó como se organizan los imperios: con jerarquías, normas y control. Desde ahí, la fe comenzó a parecerse peligrosamente a lo que Jesús confrontó. Jesús no tuvo el mayor conflicto con pecadores, tuvo el mayor conflicto con religiosos. Los fariseos eran expertos en Dios, pero desconocían a Dios. Sabían la ley pero no tenían vida. Y Jesús fue directo: "Este pueblo de labios me honra, pero su corazón está lejos de mí". Y ahí está el problema: cuando la fe se convierte en forma, pero pierde el fondo. Jesús no vino a fundar una religión, vino a romperlas desde dentro. No vino a levantar una institución. Vino a levantar hombres y mujeres libres del pecado y libres del miedo. Y -aunque incomode decirlo- libres también de la religiosidad vacía.
