@peteremcc 44 secs the officer tells him he's got better things to be doing than dealing with him. Sometimes it's the people that aren't smoking crack that are making sure the proper resources aren't going where they need to.

Most of the Plus 15 in Calgary *is* private property, and I support property owners' right to decide who can be on their property. But... why are the police available to arrest signature collectors, but nowhere to be found when people are openly smoking crack in the Plus 15?
Martyupnorth®- Unacceptable Fact Checker@Martyupnorth

Surprise, surprise, Brookfield doesn't want Alberta independence canvassers on it's property. Guess where I'm going to collect signatures this week?

@DJROTN @JohnTeufelNYC You are not a serious person. If the people in these nursing homes with available doctors and nurses available are healthy, could some of that staff be made available to assist elsewhere in a crisis? You are asking a question with no intention of engaging in civil discourse.

Incredible. Sliwa and Mamdani both went to a memorial for seniors who died in nursing homes during COVID bc of Cuomo's decisions. Cuomo cut the footage and used it out of context in a campaign ad to say Sliwa supports Mamdani. I think Cuomo might be a genuine sociopath.
VoicesForSeniors@Voices4Seniors

Our statement on Andrew Cuomo manipulating footage of a nursing home memorial for political gain. This is not just misleading-it’s morally repugnant. It was a solemn event attended by every candidate except Cuomo. He wasn’t there bc he’s responsible for the tragedy being remembered

@vicious_styles @JohnTeufelNYC I know what eminent domain is,and that it wld take at a minimum around a year, what the fuck wld be the point of that? Also, none of u has explained how taking over a hotel wld make docs and nurses magically appear And USS Comfort adjusted to take C19 patients capacity=only 500

@DJROTN @JohnTeufelNYC They were sending "stable' COVID patients back to their nursing homes if you think that's better than sending them to a separate location then maybe you just aren't a very logical person. Also eminent domain requires reasonable compensation be made to the property owner.

Revenge of the Normies
@vicious_styles @JohnTeufelNYC Also, lmao, would taking hotel *ROOMS* via eminent domain (???) magically make doctors and nurses appear? Would we take those doctors and nurses from overwhelmed ERs, or from the Skilled Nursing Facilities that were also in crisis? THINK PLEASE

@DJROTN @JohnTeufelNYC Wild that you asked this question just to argue with people. But instead of sending people with confirmed cases back to their nursing homes they could easily have acquired hotel space under eminent domain to provide additional isolation space.

Revenge of the Normies
@JohnTeufelNYC I'm not a fan of Cuomo particularly, but me and my mum (an ER nurse for 35+ years) were talking the other day abt what those who say he "killed grandma" saw as other viable options (beyond them returning to their placement at facilities called Skilled Nursing Facilities)

@Rob_T_E_Ashton She should have fired them all. Then offer a new contract at half their pay and no union. Presently these teachers who get summers off, weekends and stats off. Meanwhile they teach our children white guilt, and other poison.Teachers don't care about our kids just money. Shame

What happened on October 27th in Alberta was shameful. That won’t stop us from fighting for what’s right. Alberta’s teachers and students deserve better, and I’ll continue standing with them, today and every day. Ce qui s’est passé le 27 octobre en Alberta est honteux. Cela ne nous empêchera pas de nous battre pour ce qui est juste. @Industrious112 @GlobalEdmonton You realize police are unionized as well as most trades right? The undermining of the rights of a single union and its members is something every union should be concerned about.

@MarcWest79 @BrockWarkentin @markusoff Once again. Federal government sets the overall rules for healthcare in Canada, each province and territory gets to run their own show. They decide what's covered, how to deliver services, and how much to budget. If it's "happening everywhere" they can all improve.

@vicious_styles @BrockWarkentin @markusoff The same results are happening in every province. In fact these result happen in country with a single payer system. Trying to blame smith for that is just stupid.

@menard_ray Claiming there is no accountability or incentive for hospitals to do more surgeries for a system they manage is down right insane. Especially after throwing the entire system into chaos.

@menard_ray Additionally, how would renting out surgical space alleviate the slowness of the system? How are they regulating costs associated with private surgical clinics (overhead, staffing, complexity of surgery).

Alberta just announced a major shift in hospital funding, moving to a per-procedure, performance-based model. It’s modeled on Australia’s system. /1 🧵 cbc.ca/news/canada/ed…

@BrockWarkentin @markusoff The system isn't perfect but the provinces manage their own systems. So if you're from Alberta that would be the fault of your provincial govt.
