@allyc375 I was doing a PhD, so my assessor said ‘you can’t be disabled, you’re doing a PhD’ - it’s my legs that don’t work, not my brain mate.

@Anna90523382 From whenever I take the steroids- usually morning. If I’m still running a bit high then I’ll put it on for longer but by the evening I’ll usually not need the boost

@victorianphysic Like through the daytime?

Closed loop and steriods - anyone have experience? Waiting to see if Dsn has time to advise. Loop may help but when poorly last yr took too long for loop to respond. Not sure if to put in manual #gbdoc #diabetes

A year ago today, I was told I could not continue in my PhD program at NYU. I wasn't given a real answer as to why—but it was the worst day of my life. Two weeks later, during a mediation with my adviser, I learned that it was because she "didn't have time" for my disability.

@RachelCDailey I got told I couldn’t be disabled because I was doing a PhD. Physical disability is not mental incapacity, and mental incapacity is not the only disability that requires extensive support!

@TinyWriterLaura I’ve had the flu once. I get the flu vax every year (T1D) and still got it that year- genuinely was worried I wouldn’t make it. Flu is AWFUL.

yeah basically if you only *think* you had the flu you likely just had a very bad cold. if you were genuinely worried you might die and couldn’t imagine trying to run from the house even if there was a fire - you had the flu. the flu is not simply feeling a bit bad!

@noxiousflesh That’s a good idea! My DSN said they expect to see background on everyone by the time you get to 20 years of diabetes, as long as it stays background then you’re alright

@victorianphysic i think i’m going to make an appointment with my DSN to help put my mind at ease, i thought i was doing so well so this was such a shocker

can i get some help understanding this please, i’ve read on some diabetic forums that it reversable if you keep your bloods under control. is this true? or am i going to go blind? i can’t stop shaking and crying #DOC #GBDOC

@oldenoughtosay My cousin has cats, and her partner is horrifically allergic, and she told him she wasn’t getting rid of the cats so if he wanted to leave he was welcome to. They’re still together 😂

@TheBookshopMan I tend to go genre then alphabetically by surname but I do love the aesthetics of by colour

How shall I organise them? colour, alphabetically, genre, size?
