Seaside has set up a self-serve sandbag filling station for residents at the Seaside Fire Station at 1635 Broadway Avenue, located in the back of the fire station, at the Broadway Ave entrance. Ten sandbags per household. City staff may be unable to assist in filling sandbags.

County of Monterey Parks staff is urging park goers to be on alert for mountain lions. Two lions were spotted in Royal Oaks Park within the last two days. This is part of the animal's normal range, so it is up to park users and hikers to be alert and take any needed precautions with these predators. If you encounter a mountain lion: • Do not run • Face the animal, maintain eye contact, make noise and try to appear as large as possible. • If attacked, fight back.
