School Board Member Appreciation The Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) has designated November as a time to recognize school board members. School board members are volunteers serving as advocates striving for quality opportunities for every student.

Fall high school sports are kicking off this week in Vienna with boys golf teeing it up at Shawnee Hills in Harrisburg. You can find the complete and up to date schedule for all athletics online at viennahs.com select calendar.

The first day of attendance is Friday, August 11. School begins at 8:00 a.m. and will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. Breakfast will be served at 7:45 a.m. We will be on a 2:00 p.m. dismissal schedule on Monday, August 14, and will continue with the 2:00 p.m. schedule the entire week

BACK-TO-SCHOOL PRAYER WALK Sunday, August 6, there will be Back-to-School Prayer Walks at each of our local schools. Everyone is welcome to come to any of the school locations and join in prayer as the school year gets back into session!

Any age health and sports physicals will be held at Vienna High School by a Nurse Practitioner on August 8th and August 28th. See the nurses at school registration or email Sherie at sheriessmith@viennahighschool.com to schedule an appointment.

The VHS board heard from the schools nursing program that leads the region in pass rate and job placement along with the school's student support team that recently presented in the Bloomington area and have been sought after to present at numerous other events across the state.
