You win when we win! Wellchain's token value is tied to production (the success of our company). I’m Paul Roberts, the Cofounder/CEO of Wellchain. I got my start as a registered nurse about 25 years ago when I became a field nurse case manager. That means that I went out and accompany patients to doctor visits in the field (their town). This type of service is mostly relegated to the Worker’s Comp. market, which is a niche and underserved sector of healthcare. After doing this for a couple years and getting acclimated, it occurred to me that there was substantial value in this type of service, and it wasn’t being offered to the rest of the healthcare sector (with patient consent). The main value that I saw was enhanced care coordination (mostly to get people back to speed so they could return to work) and making sure everyone is on the same page and things aren’t falling through the cracks. I was able to get things done a lot quicker than the normal way things are handled. For example, if the doctor ordered an MRI, I could get this coordinated the same day, as opposed to it taking 2-3 weeks if the insurance adjuster did it. I discovered there was substantial improvement in care, and the speed at which people recovered because of the avoidance of such delays and through facilitating communication between the parties. This discovery sent me on a new path, to transform healthcare as we know it. The congressional healthcare plan that I developed took into consideration the utilization of medical case managers for highly complex cases and expanded that concept from the niche of the Worker’s Comp. sector (5% of healthcare) to the entire global landscape. Since 50% of healthcare costs are associated with only 5% of highly complex patients, the resulting cost savings to the healthcare system is undoubtedly substantial, perhaps as much as 30%. That 30% would equate to approximately $2.4 trillion of cost savings per year globally. Yes, I worked with Congress on the proposal, but the political winds were not favorable to changing the status quo, unfortunately. I later published the work. Later, I created a documentary on the subject of healthcare reform, entitled Diagnosing Healthcare. I later embarked on the concept of a care coordination app with the same aim, enhanced care coordination. I was able to get the first version completed, but then discovered there is an even greater version yet to be implemented. This second version utilizes the blockchain in order to track patient compliance with a given treatment plan. Patient compliance is relatively low given the number of choices people have (including Internet research), or simply opting to ignore a provider’s advice. This is particularly true with mental health. My goal isn’t to punish noncompliance, but rather to incentivize compliance. The idea is for the payer source (insurance/government) to buy our tokens, which are then burned, and an attractive amount of fiat is then provided to the patient on a monthly basis as an incentive for complying with the treatment plan. This process of burning tokens internally also ties token value to production (the success of our company). You win when we win. Token value is no longer about pure speculation. At the same time, we improve the cost of healthcare considerably, and healthcare itself around the world. It is estimated that outcomes should improve by at least 15% as a result.
