The arrival of the “Cockroach Janata Party” will actually benefit the BJP the most. Here’s the chronology behind it: The ideology of this party is anti-BJP, so around 90% of the youth joining it are already supporters of Congress, AAP, or other opposition parties. If this party contests elections, many voters will support it with the expectation that it might defeat the BJP. But the result will be the opposite. The BJP’s core voter base is not going anywhere and will continue to vote for BJP. The real loss will be for the opposition, as their vote bank will get divided among themselves. Clearly, vote splitting directly benefits the BJP and makes its path to victory easier.
