It’s unique here because in most cases, the capital efficiency of the business is lesser than the IRR expectation of the fund (15-20% RoE Vs 25% IRR) - which means that the moment the business stops raising capital, the asset is unattractive to invest in (2/3)

For a 25% IRR fund, all else equal, the decision to invest in a “well-run” NBFC boils down to AUM growth > RoA and a key metric to index on is ability to raise further capital. It’s the nature of the beast that forces this framework (1/3)
