मुंबई की इस भीषण बारिश में दिल थामे बैठी हूँ। तेज़ हवा से ऊँची इमारत की खिड़कियाँ और काँच के दरवाज़े भी थरथरा रहे हैं। लगता है जैसे मेरे मन की बेचैनी उनमें भी उतर आई हो। इस बारिश ने न जाने कितने घर उजाड़ दिए, कितनी ज़िंदगियाँ छीन लीं और कितने परिवारों को गहरे दुख में छोड़ दिया। झीलें भर गईं, पर न जाने कितनी आँखें रो-रोकर सूख गई होंगी। विकास आवश्यक है, लेकिन हर विकास के साथ प्रकृति के संतुलन का ध्यान रखना भी उतना ही आवश्यक है। शायद यही समय है जब हम सब मिलकर सोचें, ऐसा क्या करें की प्रगति भी जारी रहे और ऐसी घटनाएं कम से कम हों। प्रकृति हमें डराने नहीं, सावधान करने आती है। उसकी इस चेतावनी को समझना ही शायद सबसे बड़ा विकास होगा...
