I am now part of the latest bloodbath at New York Public Radio. It was the best 32 years of my life. Thanks to listeners who helped make it meaningful, to colleagues who work so very hard & to the amazing Jeff Spurgeon, who made me a better broadcaster every single day.

I was laid off from The Intercept, along with a number of my talented colleagues. I’ve written and produced some of my proudest work at The Intercept. Forever appreciative of having worked alongside such incredible colleagues and editors.

@soundschoolpod I agree. Episode numbers don't stick in my memory. It's the most dramatic actions or words that do. Point to those.

I have a question. Why do narrators say "That's so-and-so who we heard from in episode two?" Do listeners really track characters that way? Isn't it better to ID someone with a telling detail in order to help listener recall? I guess that's three questions.
