It means defenders cannot just focus on one forward or one pattern. Chelsea looked dangerous from multiple areas, which makes the system more flexible and far less predictable. Just as important was the way the team approached it. A 7-0 win over lower-league opposition only really means something if it comes with the right intensity, discipline and purpose, and this time it did.
