After a nightmare night with pain I receive the results of the CT scan of my whole spine. Base of spine collapsing & nearly all of my upper spine deteriorating due to age & over reliance on that part for movement. More proof of how crap biology is 🤣

@duuuuuug @normboy562 Have heard this idea from a family member recently. Thought it a cracking idea! And even those already living on super to contribute too for the greater good ( as long as it eventually came back to them or their family upon their death…)

@normboy562 If they're trying to take $$ out of the economy then why not vary Superannuation deductions accordingly? The $$ would still stay with the owner in that case and not be transferred to a bank with ever increasing profit margin.

We worked our guts out to buy our first home, went without just to survive. Now retired, I still can't fathom WHY the RBA exists only to make life IMPOSSIBLE for those who can't AFFORD it the MOST, PUNISHING WORKERS because "THEY can't think of any other way to fix inflation? 😡

Acrylic on canvas 30×30 cm “Frog” For those who don’t know the story… The kids were catching a frog in a children’s pool, and my son managed to catch it. We just wanted to observe it for a few minutes — maybe 10. But other parents started shouting that he had to release it immediately. One woman became especially aggressive — she grabbed the container with the frog from his hands and threw it into the bushes. It was an unpleasant moment, the children were upset. Later, we talked a lot about it — about respect, boundaries, and not assuming things about others. So we decided to keep this moment in a different way. I painted this frog for him. He looked at it and said: “Mom, this is your best painting.” So here it is — my best painting. #frogpainting #acrylicart #texturedart #impressionism #artstory

I went on a holiday down to Esperance Western Australia for a week. On the way there I stayed overnight in Kalgoorlie. It was pleasing to see how vibrant Kalgoorlie was. With the gold price above USD $4,500 per ounce it was no wonder the town was rocking with activity. It was even hard to find accommodation as the gold mining companies have booked out all the hotels and motels for their employees and contractors. Esperance was beautiful as ever and the weather was warm with amazing blue skies during the day. if you have never been there make sure you go. You won't regret it. On the way home we drove through the wheatbelt and stayed one night in Kondinin. Travelling through the wheatbelt was an eye opener. I hadn't been that way since 2020 and was amazed at how prosperous it seemed compared to 6 years ago. This period has seen a string of record wheat harvests along with record high grain prices. Visiting Kalgoorlie and the wheatbelt reinforced to me how resilient Australia is as a country. Even though we continually have lousy governments, this is ignored in these areas and once we have a pinch of luck we reap the benefits. It may not be the lucky country anymore, but it certainly is a country that keeps hanging in there even with all the bludgers infesting it. Just imagine what could be done if we had some competent people running the place.

@vitt2tsnoc When I was working, I was so fortunate to only have to work 3&1/2 days a week. Sure a lot of the rest of the time was consumed by childcare, household chores & shopping… but I did feel that I had a life. Feel sorry for those with families working ft!

I genuinely think if we all moved to a 4 day working week it would change the course of society. People would be happier, healthier, less angry, more present, I really think it would change the world.

Acrylic on canvas 50×80 cm «Evening Path Home» Cows were the very first subject I started painting about 10 years ago. They come from my earliest memories — from a small town in Russia where I grew up. Almost every family had one or two cows. Calves were born, everyone drank fresh milk, and life felt simple and real. I remember how the herdsman would walk through the streets, calling them, gathering them into one big herd. The sound of hooves, the quiet movement, the rhythm of the day — all of it stayed with me. When I moved to Belgium almost 13 years ago, cows appeared in my life again. I live in the countryside now, surrounded by fields. It’s different here — cows belong to farms, to large barns and private pastures — but they still carry that same calm presence. For me, nothing compares to the feeling of home and the deep nostalgia they bring. #eveningpathhome #acrylicpainting #texturedart #cows #nostalgia

I’ll tell you what the best part of motherhood is I snuck into the boys room to give them a kiss goodnight, my middle one was still awake pretending to be asleep, I snuggled his blankets around him and I gave him a kiss goodnight on the cheek, no matter how hard he tried, still with his eyes closed, pretending to be asleep he could not hide the smile on his sweet little face the second I gave him a kiss how absolutely humbling it is to be loved like this

I so wish people understood the real impact of severe chronic pain. Went out with friends for a birthday dinner, but had to leave early because I couldn't take sitting on hard chairs anymore. Had to leave everyone just to get back & lay down. This is daily life right now.

I’m an alcoholic. I got sober in July 2022. When I first got sober, I was a mess. I started walking every day in an effort to get healthy and clear my head. From the very first walk, Carl refused to let me go alone. This little farm cat would trot right beside me for the entire 10,000 steps. No matter what, he simply wasn’t comfortable with me walking by myself.

@aparachick I don’t think anything will change their minds ( though the almost 50 yr old might soon do the govt sent poo test…) They even lost a friend from bowel cancer & they know another who… seems… to have defeated it 🤞. You can lead a horse to water but…

Today my brother would have been 76. He had bowel cancer at the age of 45. 12 inches of bowel removed. All gone, so we thought. At the age of 50 he was diagnosed with tumours in his lungs and brain. Within 2 months he had passed, just after New Year. 1/

If you’ve got a family history, please do a kit. We were told the type of cancer my brother had was very genetic and to test every 5 years. It’s also on my husbands side so his siblings also do 5 yearly colonoscopies.
