Philipsen is only high on the list because of the 50 points stages. I think there is even a chance Philipsen won't make it to Madrid. KoM - polka dots *** Ciccone ** Vingegaard - Fortunato * Poels - Buitrago - Pellizzari If Ciccone wants it, he will have it. Mads will pilot him in the breaks on the flat. If many GC days, Vingegaard has a good shot. Young - white jersey *** Tiberi ** Ayuso - Pellizzari * Riccittello - Lopez - Lecerf Tiberi vs. Ayuso. The rest won't go for GC. Recipe for chaos. Ayuso and Almeida good shot at podium. I expect Soler and Vine to go on the attack and hunt for stages too. Visma LAB GC: Vingegaard Sprint: Zingle Break: Kuss, Jorgenson All in for Vingegaard, who should easily win this Vuelta. Kuss to win the stage in Andorra? Zingle showed good form in Denmark and in this field should come close to (sprint) victories, especially in the harder finishes. EF GC: None Sprint: Mikhels Break: All except for Mikhels Rookie team trying to win a stage out of the break. Will be very hard. Archie Ryan their best shot. Alpecin Deceuninck GC: None Sprint: Planckaert Break: Hermans, Vergalito Without all of their star riders it will be very hard to win a stage for Alpecin. Quinten Hermans best shot. Arkea B&B GC: None Sprint: Biermans Break: Verre, Cri Rodriguez Not best. Astana GC: None Sprint: None Break: All! UCI points! That is it all about for Astana. They will look for the break on every hilly stage and have the riders for it. Just pick the rigt one. Fortunato trying for KoM. Bahrein GC: Tiberi Sprint: Buratti Break: Buitrago, Traeen Nice team with Tiberi going for GC podium with the help of Caruso, who could easily top 10 himself too. Buitrago dangerous out of the break. Cofidis GC: Buchmann Sprint: Aniolkowski, Coquard Break: Carr, Samitier Main goal is - same as Astana - to get UCI points. Therefore sprinting with two riders. Decathlon GC: Gall Sprint: Break: Bisiaux, Labrosse, Staune Mittet GC with Gall and some stage hunting along the way. Not their best riders present so will be hard to win a stage. Ganna needed in the TTT and the TT for himself. Intermarché GC: Meintjes Sprint: Marit Break: Artz Trying to top 10 with Meintjes and get results with Arne Marit in the sprints and Huub Artz in the harder (sprint) stages. Artz in good form, could suprise. Lidl Trek GC: none Sprint: Pedersen Break: Ciccone Strong as hell. Trek is after two trilogy's: all GT sprint jerseys in one season, and Ciccone with all GT KoM jerseys in his career. Clear goals and they have the team for it. Mads and Kragh will get Ciccone in a lot of breaks with flat starts. Movistar GC: none Sprint: Aular Break: Romo, Castrillo, Cepeda Breaks with their climbers and sprinting with Aular. No GC. Lets see if Castrillo can get his mojo of last year back. Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe GC: Hindley Sprint: van Dijke Break: Pellizzari, Aleotti, Fisher Black Hindley as their designated leader, but I think all Bora riders can go for stages. In the end Pellizzari will be their GC man I guess. Or he will lose a lot of time to win stages. If so, it's time for a big Pelli win. He's yet to win a stage with the big boys. Soudal Quick Step GC: none Sprint: Casper Pedersen Break: Landa, Lecerf, Paret Peintre No GC ambitions but a strong team to win out of a break with Landa, Lecerf and VPP. Lecerf in great form! I would love to see some Landismo on the Angliru. PicNic PostNL GC: none Sprint: van Uden Break: Vermaerke, Leemrijze, Hamilton Sprinting with van Uden will be priority. Not a very strong team. Still waiting for the definitive break through of Vermaerke. Maybe this Vuelta? He's got qualities. Team Jayco AlUla GC: O'Connor Sprint: Foldager Break: Harper, Dunbar GC top 10 with Ben O'Connor and some nice results with Dunbar and Foldager. Lotto GC: none Sprint: Viviani Break: Sepulveda, Gregaard Sprinting with Viviani and a good TT results for Segaert, That's about it. They are missing all their best riders, like many teams in the Vuelta. Israel Premier Tech GC: Gee Sprint: Vernon Break: Frigo Haven't heard of Gee since the Giro. Sprinting with Vernon and looking for break away success with Frigo. Burgos GC: none Sprint: Cavia Break: Fagundez, Chumil Sprinting with Cavia and trying for break aways with the rest. Fagundez their best option. Caja Rural GC: none Sprint: none Break: Silva, Molenaar, Barcelo Trying to win out of a break away. Guillermo Thomas Silva one to watch. Q36.5 GC: Pidcock Sprint: none Break: none All in for Pidcock with a strong team. Looks a great course for Pidcock to win stages and finish in GC top 10.
