Visualization For Social Good

@ieeevis @SheelaghCarp will discuss recent work taking a human-centred approach to UN research priorities. She will describe how she is navigating implications for policy & vis in working w/ under-resourced, under-supported communities that have unsustainably high reliance on volunteers.

The first talk of the day will be titled "Empowering People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities through Cognitively Accessible Visualizations" presented by @kekewu728

& finally, we will hear from @nargesmahyar on "Bridging the Divide: Promoting Serendipitous Discovery of Opposing Viewpoints with Visual Analytics in Social Media"

After the coffee break, we will hear from Moritz Weckbecker on "Supporting Mathematical Education with Interactive Visual Proofs"

The first session will be wrapped up by Florent Cabric on "Open Questions about the Visualization of Sociodemographic Data"

Next up, we will hear about "Visual Salience to Mitigate Gender Bias in Recommendation Letters" by @profembwall

Bei Wang will present on the paper "From Flowchart to Questionnaire: Increasing Access to Justice via Visualization"

We will hear from @curiouslemur on the paper titled "Beyond English: Centering Multilingualism in Data Visualization"

Next up, Georgina Hibberd will present a paper titled "The Good Life: visualizing the complexity of supported living for people with disability"
