So much of what is said about romantic love on this site is so ineffably corrupt and wrong, I almost don’t even want to touch the subject because of how off base the discourse is. I have so much to say. But above all, I’ll say: that true love is not what most of you think it is. It is a return to innocence in each other’s arms, repeatedly. It is feeling safe to be seen in your extreme rawness, in front of someone you trust to hold you there, and love you there, and heal you there. All of this stuff about “high value” this and communication hacks that and even the endless attachment style dialogue … it’s all so missing the point. SO missing the point. The person you love should feel like a still, safe home amidst an unpredictable, chaotic, stimulating world. It should feel like permission to be who you have always been, who you were as a child. Feeling so safe, so held, that you can finally feel all of the things you never let yourself feel when you were protecting yourself, defending yourself, adapting to this intense and unrelenting world on the way to adulthood. In the space of true love, you meet yourself fully. You literally become the most honest and pure version of yourself. Because it’s finally safe to be who you are. If you have that, if you *really* have that, and you have a shared vision of the future, generally desiring the same kind of life, you can figure the rest out. You really can. Everything else is just a puzzle that you get to ENJOY solving together. Because being together is fun. It’s easy. It’s free. It’s everything that you truly, genuinely want to experience in the presence of another person. Stop looking for some checklist and start noticing the person who makes you feel at EASE. Still, safe, and present. Who makes your body soften, your breath slow down, and who lets you finally feel truly seen, and loved, in what they see. THAT is what you are looking for. Not some status symbol or pre-constructed avatar that you built in your mind of what love should look like.

Just received these photos from Studio34 in Bengaluru. We worked on their branding a few months ago. We spend most of our time designing web identities and digital products that drive growth and raise capital. But there is still something childishly joyful about seeing your work turn into physical form. The same typography we crafted on screen now installed on a wall people will walk past every day.
