*Is no 13 really unlucky* My township doesn’t have the 13th tower , there is no 13th floor. On enquiring , I found that no 13 is considered unlucky. Is it ? As a young man working for the government granary in Sultanpur Lodhi, Guru Nanak Dev ji was given a job to count grain that was collected as taxation. One day he was weighing provisions and was counting each weighing as 'one, two, three... ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen'. When he reached the number 13-‘Tera' (in Punjabi language Tera means number 13, and Tera also means 'yours', that is 'sab kuch tera Waheguru '), he went into meditation. Baba Nanak went on weighing by saying, "Tera, tera, tera..." The customers were happy to receive the extra provisions and did not know how to carry so many goods. They could not understand the bounties of Waheguru. Ultimately the situation reached Nawab Daulat Khan when a charge was levied against the Guru that he was recklessly giving away grain. The Nawab ordered an inquiry which was conducted very carefully. The Guru's detractors were surprised when the stores were found full. In fact, the accounts showed an extra surplus in favor of Guru Nanak. Interestingly, the holy word 'Waheguru' appears 13 times in the sacred book 'Guru Granth Sahib'. Also, the harvest festival that marks the Punjabi new year- Baisakhi is mostly celebrated on the 13th day in the month of April! Is 13 unlucky ?

Personal update: My time in Bengaluru has come to an abrupt end. After having lived in the city for more than 10 years, I have relocated to my Tier 3 hometown in Tripura (Northeast India) for the foreseeable future. When I first came here to study at the age of 16 in 2012, I was amazed by the people, culture and the enormous opportunities that the city had to offer. There is no place like ನಮ್ಮ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು . For millions of small-town men like me, Bengaluru gave hope and the possibility to dream big and extraordinary. It provided a sneak peek into a world that did not exist for us. I have never complained about minor inconveniences that I experienced in this city because Bengaluru was/is/will be 100x better than where I came from. The vibe and weather of this city are unmatched. Places like JP Nagar, Jaynagar, and Banshankari will forever be in my memories now. I will miss my favourite Masala Dosa and Chicken Boneless Meghna Biriyani, of course. Lastly, I am eternally grateful to the locals (Kannadigas) who have always been kind, warm and welcoming to me. Namma Bengaluru forever ♥️
