The critics loved the history and heritage of the place, with exposed beams dating to the 16th century, wonky doorways and stunning valley views. They also loved the great food options and "theatrical open kitchen" in the Upper Deck Restaurant. Congratulations to the whole team!

Great news for Tintern and the Wye Valley as The Royal George Hotel has been unveiled as the best place to stay in Wales by @thetimes. It’s a fantastic achievement for the hotel which only reopened last August after a two-year renovation.
