i just became a mod of x/LocalLLaMA. if you're running local models on your own hardware and want in, the community is open. pinned and highlighted on my profile. approving members starting today. drop your setup below and i'll get you in. 3060, 3090, 4090, 5090, AMD, whatever you're running. all welcome. if you're hitting issues with hermes agent, llama.cpp, model selection, configs, i'm here. let's make local AI accessible for everyone.

let me get you started in local AI and bring you to the edge. if you have a GPU or thinking about diving into the local LLM rabbit hole, first thing you do before any setup is join x/LocalLLaMA. this is the community that will help you at every step. post your issue and we will direct you, debug with you, and save you hours of work. once you're in, follow these three: @TheAhmadOsman the oracle. this is where you consume the latest edges in infrastructure and AI. if something dropped you hear it from him first. his content alone will keep you ahead of most. @0xsero one man army when it comes to model compression, novel quantization research, new tools and tricks that make your local setup better. you will learn, experiment, and discover things you didn't know existed. @Teknium maker of Hermes Agent, the agent i use every day from @NousResearch. from Teknium you don't just stay at the frontier, you get your hands on the tools before everyone else. this is where things are headed. if you follow me follow these three and join the community. you will be ahead of most people in this space. if you run into wrong configs, stuck debugging hardware, or can't get a model to load, post there so we can help. get started with local AI now. not only understand the stack but own your cognition. don't pay openai fees on top of giving them your prompts, your research, and your most valuable thinking to be monitored and metered. buy a GPU and build your own token factory.

@EliasDaler I'm working on an n64 game and developing the collision system has definitely been one of the most challenging parts so far!

Working on PS1 stuff... The cat has learned how to jump, btw. (The collision was hard to implement and haunted me for weeks)

My next game release is called Lobotrypo and will hopefully be released around August. It's a horror game about a serial killer going around cutting a huge hole into people's palate. Heavily inspired by Norwegian nature and culture, and visually inspired by the N64.

@AngryTomtweets It’s distracting and oppressive. Long, still shots allow the viewer to contemplate. Constant movement distracts the mind

The shot doesn’t lose its soul. It gains momentum. You see the difference instantly — not because it’s faster, but because it’s alive. This is what happens when motion is done with intention.

This is unreal. Someone just reimagined Tarkovsky using AI-driven camera motion. What if the camera moved — but still felt like it belonged? Let me show you what that looks like:

@pearly_sinner @HiddenYorkshire The layers of abstraction are the fragile part. You think an archaeologist digging up a hard drive 2000 years from now will be able to reconstruct a jpeg stored on it?

Forget the roman empire, how often do you think about the inevitable new dark age caused by our lack of physically recorded material and our total reliance on digital technology for information storage which collapsed

@alphachromeyayo That manga artist rules! Check out his other series called Fuan no Tane (and the sequel Fuan no Tane plus). Basically a couple hundred creepy urban legend stories that are each about 5-10 pages long

Plus I gotta say I really enjoyed doing live visuals all night, it was a fun challenge listening closely to the music trying to anticipate transitions and coming up with visual patterns that matched what I was hearing on the fly. Can’t wait to do more of this!
